Dr. Ahmed Zewali

Ahmed Zewail is an Egyptian Scientist. He is known as father of Femtochemistry. He won Noble prize for Chemistry in 1999. Ahmed Zewail is the first originally Arab Muslim scientist to win Noble prize in a scientific field. He is presently working at California Institute of Technology.

After having his post doctorate activities and research activities at the University of California, Zewali was granted a position as a faculty at Caltech in the year 1976. Being a faculty member at Caltech he devoted his whole time and efforts as a researcher and by the year 1990, he was chosen and awarded the first ever Linus Pauling Chair Professor in Chemical Physics. It was in 1982 that Ahmed Zewail was vested and became a naturalized resident of the United States of America.

Because of his recognition  and huge achievements in chemical sciences and even in politics, he was rumored to contest for the general elections of Egypt in 2011 but he justified himself by announcing that he had no political agenda or ambitions. And further stated that all he wanted was to serve Egyptian nationals using Science as his armor and frankly voiced out that he prefer to die as a scientist and nothing else.
