He earned a Bachelor of Science from the University of Alexandria in Electrical Engineering and later completed his masters from the in Electronics and Electrical Engineering from Bradford University, and also a PhD from the University of Birmingham in Mobile Communications. He has received numerous honorary degrees and fellowships from different institutions. Dr Ibrahim is also the recipient of a number of awards including The GSM Association's Chairman's Award for Lifetime Achievement .
In 2007 he started the "Mo Ibrahim Prize for Achievement in African Leadership", which awards a $5 million initial payment, and a $200,000 a year for life to African heads of state who deliver security, health, education and economic development to their constituents. He is also the Founding Chairman of Satya Capital Ltd, an investment company focused on opportunities in Africa.

Azim Premji, a graduate in Electrical Engineering from Stanford University, USA. He has received numerous honors and accolades, which he dedicates to Team Wipro. He is the first Indian recipient of the Faraday Medal. New york based magazine Business Week featured him on their cover of the October 2003 issue with the sobriquet "India's Tech King" and also listed him amongst the top 30 entrepreneurs in world history in July 2007.
Azim Premji is the 2nd richest person in India after Reliance Industries Ltd. chairman Mukesh Ambani. Despite all his enormous wealth, Premji is a very humble and down to earth personality. In 2001 Premji contributed a large amount of his wealth in the establishment of the Azim Premji Foundation, a non-profit organization that focuses on making improvements in children’s education and welfare.
