Dr Mohamed Ibrahim
Dr Mohamed Ibrahim is a Sudanese-born entrepreneur. He is the owner of Africa's biggest cellular phone company, Celtel. Dr. Mo Ibrahim is also the Founding Chairman of Satya Capital Ltd, an investment company focused on opportunities in Africa.


He earned a Bachelor of Science from the University of Alexandria in Electrical Engineering and later completed his masters from the in Electronics and Electrical Engineering from Bradford University, and also a PhD from the University of Birmingham in Mobile Communications. He has received numerous honorary degrees and fellowships from  different  institutions. Dr Ibrahim is also the recipient of a number of awards including The GSM Association's Chairman's Award for Lifetime Achievement .

 In 2007 he started the "Mo Ibrahim Prize for Achievement in African Leadership", which awards a $5 million initial payment, and a $200,000 a year  for life to African heads of state who deliver security, health, education and economic development to their constituents. He is also the Founding Chairman of Satya Capital Ltd, an investment company focused on opportunities in Africa.
